Club i Team Davao Charity Ride: Riding with a Purpose
On June 29, 2025, the hum of engines in Davao City carried more than the promise of speed and adventure — it carried a mission of pagtabang and pag-amuma. Club i Yamaha Sniper Philippines Inc. Team Davao, known for our strong brotherhood and passion for riding, embarked on our 2nd Charity Ride to Purok-7, Dalawinon, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur.
Our goal: to support Tristan Jay Navidad, a six-year-old boy courageously fighting cerebral palsy, seizure disorder, and severe pneumonia. With the unwavering love of his mother, Mrs. Judielyn Alcasin, Tristan Jay faces each day with bravery — and on this day, riders vowed to be part of his fight.
The Call to Ride
By 8:00 AM, around 30 members and officers gathered at Shell Ulas for the official regroup. After a briefing and heartfelt prayer for safety and purpose, the engines came alive.
The convoy rode through Sta. Cruz and Digos, turning heads and drawing smiles along the highway. A quick breakfast stop at Brgy. Tres de Mayo fueled the riders before pressing onward to Magsaysay.
Delivering Hope and Necessities
Upon arrival, the riders handed over essential supplies for Tristan Jay — including diapers, milk, and other daily necessities.
Makita nimo sa ilang mga mata the relief and gratitude. Mrs. Judielyn’s voice trembled as she thanked the riders, not just for the donations, but for the compassion and encouragement they brought.
Club i Team Davao Charity Ride: Brotherhood Over Lunch
After the handover, the group rode to the home of Brother Joel, a fellow rider, for a hearty lunch: native chicken tinola, perfectly grilled fish, and smoky pork belly.
The meal wasn’t just about food — it was about fellowship. Stories flowed, laughter echoed, and bonds between riders deepened. This wasn’t just a ride for a cause — it was a family on two wheels.
Experiencing the Beauty of Kapatagan on Two Wheels
At around 2:00 PM, the convoy began the journey home via the scenic Kapatagan route, a favorite among Davao motorcycle riders for its exhilarating twisties (winding curves), crisp mountain air, and lush landscapes.
Kapatagan feels murag naa ka sa laing nasud — a mix of cool breeze, highland coffee shops, and panoramic views. The group paused for a short coffee break, watching as fog slowly rolled in, adding a touch of magic to the highland scenery.
Riding Through Rain: Challenges Turned Memories
Descending from Kapatagan, heavy rain caught the group off guard. In true rider fashion, they stopped at a roadside store and improvised with large cellophane sheets — the humble rugtag raincoats.
Debriefing: Wet but Fulfilled
The final regroup was at Franklin Baker 7-Eleven, where the team held a debriefing to assess the ride.
It was a day of wet clothes, tired bodies, but full hearts. The Club i Team Davao Charity Ride had once again proven that the motorcycle community is built on camaraderie, compassion, and purpose.
